Two cool events coming up: First, tonight (Wednesday, Aug. 4) is the first beer event at HauteDish. Sounds pretty good: “We will be simultaneously tapping Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout and Canadian Breakfast Stout! Starting at 6pm you can compare and contrast these delicious breakfast treats. Along with that you can expect a play on Chicken and Waffles and perhaps some French Toast.”
Then, this Sunday (Aug. 8 from 3-5pm), head over to Fabulous Catering (2900 13th Ave S., Minneapolis), for a canning and preservation event featuring homemade jam with Dorothy Stainbrook of Heath Glen Organic farm, pickling and drying demos from chef Nick Schneider of Tavola Fresca, and a brief history of canning and preservation movements during the Great Depression and WWII. $20/$15 Minnesota Historical Society members. Includes samples, recipes, and more: for tickets, visit the website or call 651.259.3015.
