A press release from Anne Saxton details a new restaurant coming to the Food Building in Northeast Minneapolis:
“Located in the Sheridan neighborhood, The Workhorse will be joining Red Table Meat Co. and The Lone Grazer Creamery at FOOD BUILDING (1401 Marshall Street NE)….
The Workhorse will be a deli, restaurant & bar opening in November 2015. The deli will feature products from The Lone Grazer Creamery and Red Table Meat Co., along with grab & go sandwiches, salads and soup. We will also serve lunch, dinner and late night menus featuring roasted meats and vegetables, charcuterie and cheese plates, Lone Grazer cheese curds, pot pies, comfort foods, and more! All ingredients will be locally sourced and organic whenever possible.
The team behind the restaurant include Luke Kyle, Katie Kyle, and Anne Saxton. Luke Kyle is co-owner & chef of the Anchor Fish & Chips. He and Geoff King of Scratch Food Truck will be heading up the kitchen at The Workhorse, his company Anchor Construction, is also handling the build out. Katie Kyle recently left Spyhouse Coffee Roasters, where she worked in operations & wholesale management. Anne Saxton currently works for Kim Bartmann’s family of restaurants (Barbette, Bryant Lake Bowl, Red Stag Supperclub, Pat’s Tap, Bread & Pickle, Tiny Diner, and The Third Bird), handling marketing, sponsorships and events for the past 10 years.
