Longfellow residents have a new local coffeehouse: Peace Coffee‘s cafe at 3262 Minnehaha Ave. is now open. The space is a bright, airy example of industrial chic, and features a still-in-progress mosaic floor in the back third of the space. We sampled a mocha, which was balanced, not overly sweet, and highly pleasant (not merely hot chocolate with a splash of brackish coffee).

any word on the hanger room in willernie?
This makes me very happy. While Fireroast Mountain will still be my coffee shop of choice, this new Peace Coffee Shop is just a block from our daycare.
Any report of what their hours will be or if food will also be available?
The Hanger Room’s definitely open. Re: Peace Coffee, they have hours posted, but I didn’t manage to memorize them … will post ’em back here next time I’m over there. The menu didn’t appear to feature meals, but they do have cookies / pastries.
The Peace Coffee Shop hours are Monday-Saturday 6:30am to 7:00pm. Sunday 8-2. We are currently offering pastries, breads & soups from the Wedge Co-op Bakehouse & bagels from Common Roots Cafe. We’re finishing the mosaic floor this week. Grand Opening information to come. In the meantime, please stop by for a cup of Snowshoe Brew and a scone!
