Editorial Intern
Wanted: A food-loving apprentice journalist interested in working with a newly founded daily gastronomic magazine covering the Upper Midwest.
Duties: Assist with the gathering and checking of facts for articles and restaurant listings. Help locate fresh material for the Churn news aggregation blog. Assist with initial copy-editing and fact-checking of articles in progress. Help round up material for recipes and/or taste tests. Other miscellaneous tasks too numerous and glamorous to mention.
Time Commitment: Roughly 5 hours a week, generally working from an Internet connection and phone of your choosing. We meet as a staff a couple times a month, and attendance at those meetings is welcomed but not required.
Compensation: Unpaid. Any published clips will be compensated at our miserable going rate, and we’ll do our best to steer some free eats your way.
Dates: We’ll take applications for this position until Mar. 17.
Internship will begin Mar. 24 (or sooner if you’re up for it) and run until June 24.
