Chef Justin Grecco of Grecco’s on the Saint Croix is debuting a daring — both conceptually and financially — new product called Chef in a Box. The theory: customers will order the components of a gourmet meal (such as Lobster Gnocchi or Pepper Crusted Filet Mignon) and Chef Grecco will pack and FedEx the ingredients, along with an instructional DVD. The customer watches the DVD, and makes the meal at home. A YouTube pitch for the product breaks it down pretty clearly.
