In celebration of Food Day, the award-winning documentary Food Stamped airs (for free) on Monday night, Oct. 24 at Open Arms in South Minneapolis. It depicts one couple’s humorous adventures trying to maintain a healthy diet on a food stamp budget, while simultaneously exploring America’s broken food system. Open Arms Executive Director Kevin Winge will introduce the film with a short discussion of hunger in Minnesota and the 2011 Open Arms SNAP Challenge. Popcorn’s included! The film airs from 6:30-8pm in the main lobby of Open Arms (2500 Bloomington Avenue South).
