Grand Cafe (3804 Grand Ave. S, we liked their toast and pickled condiments, among other things) is launching a new series of cooking demos with its staff. They’re open to all, roughly 90 minutes in length, and feature free tastes. Sept. 11 at 9am is “Blue Ribbon Baking with Willa Pelini — a presentation covering the baking style of the Grand Cafe’s scones and biscuits, along with a surprise from the Cafe’s repertoire.” Sept. 21 at 5pm is “Put Up or Shut Up with Chef Ben Pichler — From the farmer’s market to your pantry; a demonstration of pickling techniques for that unforgettable finishing touch.” Reserve a spot by calling 612.822.8260.
