The latest from Twitter: @BlueOxCoffeeCompany plugs their peppermint mocha garnished with a Thin Mint from the Girl Scouts (it’s that time of year!), @ngonbistro announces their Valentine’s Day tasting menu, @RogueChocolate marvels that every one of their bars is hand-inspected by the founder himself, and @france44 is serving a decadent-sounding fig salami with blue cheese.
More than 55 area restaurants will raise money for Heidi’s and Blackbird (the two Minneapolis restaurants destroyed by a recent fire) on March 14. The “Fork the Fire” evening features two special events: A $30 dinner at Mission American Kitchen (featuring Stewart Woodman), and a $25 dinner at Cafe 28 featuring Chris Stevens of Blackbird. Check out the press release for details [download here -- PDF]. Also see: Fork the Fire on Facebook. UPDATE: From what I can gather, different restaurants will be using different formulas to determine what sort of donations they make to the fund on March 14; you also have the option of donating directly to the Blackbird and Heidi’s Benefit Fund, Central Bank, 2120 Hennepin Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55405.
