Celebrate Fall Baking With Nordic Ware

The arrival of fall weather draws many of us into the kitchen to pull out the equipment for baking a fruity, spicy, cinnamon-y, warm-from-the-oven “something.” For the baking inclined who are lacking in the right equipment, a visit to the Nordic Ware Factory Store might be in order. The Nordic Ware Factory Store is adjacent to Nordic Ware’s St. Louis Park corporate headquarters and factory location at 4925 Highway 7 in St. Louis Park (at the intersection of Highways 100 and 7). The store is frequented by home cooks, chefs, and restaurant owners and features first quality cookware and bakeware, microwave and barbeque products, and kitchen tools and accessories, as well as factory close-outs and irregulars.

To get you in the mood for fall baking, Nordic Ware is featuring a recipe on its website for “Cranberry Orange Cardamom Bundt Cake” (photo below) baked in its new Autumn Wreath Bundt® pan or in its classic Anniversary Bundt® pan. Both pans are made of cast aluminum offering both fine artistic detail and superior baking performance. Nordic Ware’s distinctive premium nonstick interior allows for quick release and easy cleanup and the heat reflective silver platinum exterior ensures uniform browning for a beautiful cake every time.

This recipe was tested in the Nordic Ware Factory Store’s contemporary demonstration kitchen where Nordic Ware hosts cooking and baking classes. In the classes, local chefs, cookbook authors, and experienced cooking instructors teach cooking and baking techniques and sample delicious recipes. The two-hour, Tuesday evening classes are $25.00 per person plus tax and include tastings, take-home recipes, and store discount the night of the class. Information on the classes can be found at the store or on the Nordic Ware website.

While you’re there sign up to receive Nordic Ware emails about classes and Factory Store sales. You can also create your own private class. Bring your book group, plan a bridal shower, have a company event, or just a girls’ or guys’ night out enjoying great food and learning cooking techniques from an experienced chef instructor in the intimate setting of the Nordic Ware Factory Store.

Nordic Ware is a well-known name here in Minnesota and around the world. This family-owned, American manufacturer of kitchenware products was founded in 1946 and is celebrating its 65th anniversary. Nordic Ware’s first products were ethnic bakeware products such as rosette irons, Ebleskiver pans, and krumkake irons. Today, Nordic Ware is best known for its trademarked Bundt® pan. There are nearly 60 million Bundt® pans in use in kitchens across America.

The Bundt® pan holds true American icon status with a place in the Smithsonian Institution. November 15th each year is National Bundt Day. Today, two out of three American households own and use Nordic Ware products.

The recipes I’ve tried from the company website have been great — there’s a reason most of them were contest-winning recipes. Another excellent site for Bundt recipes is The Food Librarian http://foodlibrarian.blogspot.com/ who celebrates a 30-day countdown to Nov 15 National Bundt day by baking and blogging about a different cake daily. The Nordic Ware Factory Store is a fun resource for those of us fortunate enough to live nearby, and worth a stop-in if you’re in the area.
