Join Slow Food Minnesota at a benefit for Minnesota Food Association and SFM on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2pm at Big River Farms, 14220 Ostlund Trail N, Marine on St. Croix, MN. Our Big River Slow Food dinner features four chefs creating a white-tablecloth dinner with heritage seed crops, local produce, wine and beer. Chefs include Joe Hatch-Surisook (Sen Yai Sen Lek; pictured above), Thomas Boemer (Corner Table), Marshall Paulsen (Birchwood), and Steven Brown (Tilia). And tour MFA’s “incubator” farm: Karen and Hmong farmers join others from Ethiopia, Liberia, Guatemala, Russia, Bhutan, Kenya and the United States to grow produce, share their experiences, and develop production and marketing skills. Hear their stories about the immigrant experience. Tickets are $95 for members of Slow Food or MFA, $125 for non-members and guests of members, $45 for chidlren 15 and under.
