A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.

This weekend, 10,000 music fans donned ponchos and braved the rain to attend 2011′s Rock the Garden event at the Walker Art Center. The annual event, which this year featured Tapes ‘n Tapes, Booker T. Jones, My Morning Jacket, and Neko Case, sold out in less than 24 hours.
Below, some of the day’s food, including a corn dog, a bacon beer brat from Chef Shack, grilled corn on the cob, ice cream, a fish taco from Barrio, a Philips Prairie Organic vodka cooler, the Foxy Falafel stand, the Chef Shack doughnut truck, a gyro, a loaded potato, a Joe’s Garage basil pesto tomato mozzarella baguette, and Summit beer.

Despite inclement weather, a good time was had by all.

Our photographer received two tickets to this event (a $92 value) and complimentary food.

That’s awesome. I wasn’t able to get anything to eat but did have a few beers. But I still have the munchies from all the second hand pot smoke in the air.
