We here at The Heavy Table are very pleased to present the debut of “Louie the Loon: A Foodie Cartoon,” which will appear here every other Friday. From the day of its founding in 2009, the Heavy Table has been dedicated to documenting local food by every means available, and so it was only natural that we’d explore the world of visual expression when we met the right artist.
Illustrator, painter, and screen printer David Witt is on a mission to document undersung aspects of the Upper Midwestern food scene on our behalf, with alter ego Louie the Loon in the driver’s seat. We hope you’ll enjoy the ride.
