Join Us for a Local Food Festival at Kitchen Window

secret-atlas-cover-for-web-650The staff of the Heavy Table invites you to celebrate the launch of our first book, The Secret Atlas of North Coast Food! We’ll be co-hosting a local food festival and book signing event at Kitchen Window on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 6-9pm.

We’re gathering more than 15 local bakers, brewers, coffee roasters, and more at Kitchen Window, the Minneapolis headquarters for the passionate cook, and those who aspire to be.

Tickets are $35 and include a copy of The Secret Atlas of North Coast Food, a $25 value. And as you’d expect from a Nosh, your samples at the Kitchen Window Food Festival will be free, plentiful, and delicious.

And if you’re excited to dig deeper into the book, join us on Friday, Nov. 15 from 6-9pm at Kitchen Window for a special “Behind the Pages” session featuring Heavy Table writers John Garland, Joshua Page, and James Norton, plus delicious tastings from Alemar Cheese, Family Lao-Thai, and local wineries.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The authors and illustrators of The Secret Atlas of North Coast Food walked and drove the alleys and backroads of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, following in the footsteps of Bob Dylan and Liberace, meeting master cheesemakers, dining in the Boundary Waters, interrogating ice cream truck drivers, delving deep into the bowels of the busiest brunch service in Minnesota, and more. Maps and illustrations complement more than 20 journalistic essays that will take you deep into the history, culture, and gastronomy of one of America’s best — and least understood — places to eat.
