The 614 Washington Ave. S.E. Espresso Royale has shut down, leaving two other locations still operating in Minneapolis. The company website’s description of the location: “…the company’s only cafe run entirely by its crew. And who said socialism never works?” Erk. Apparently the free market did, in this case.

It’s unfortunate but I’m not surprised. When there are 4 other coffee shops within the line of sight of the front door of Espresso Royale and the economy begins to tank some of the shops have to go under.
