Peter’s Grill to Close at Month’s End (“It Looks Like”)

A waitress at Peter’s Grill told the husband of one of our contributors that the venerable (99-year-old) restaurant would be closing its doors “within a month.” A phone conversation with owner Peter Atsidakos confirmed it: “We’re going to close at the end of the month, it looks like,” he said. Atsidakos said that business has been bad since last May, and placed some of the blame on food trucks that compete for the restaurant’s prime lunch business. “There are 14 of them here on the street every day,” he said, “and most of our business is at noontime.”
