Nokomis to Close and Morning Roundup

Duluth’s Nokomis is closing Oct. 28, the well-regarded Sushi Fix food truck is becoming a storefront restaurant in Wayzata, Flat Earth Brewing is one of the businesses that will move into the old Hamm’s brewery, an orchard party and hard cider launch that looks like exactly the right way to celebrate autumn, Slow Food’s annual Writers’ Night event (featuring our own Tricia Cornell), a profile of Madison’s Yahara Bay Distillers, live music venues with solid beer lists, a look at the Badger Hill / Lucid partnership, the story behind Chefs 4 Vote NO!, Rick gives Primebar a mixed review (we took the same stance), some modestly exciting bagel news, praise for the goat meat at Tawakal in Burnsville, a look at the upcoming Surly expansion, and Iggers talks up IndoChin (we dug their com ga nuong).
