MPR reports that the Taste of Minnesota festival is overdue in paying $23,000 in fees and staffing costs to St. Paul for the use of Harriet Island and owes a further $87,000 to the St. Paul Police Department. City Pages saw this coming in August, calling the festival’s business model “preposterous.”

I really, really hope it’s toast. Like I blathered on about in that comment section, it would be awesome to have a Taste event that represents local food (like Chicago’s) rather than crappy fair food, crappy rides, and crappy music.
