A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.
Chez Charles has a great post up about Everett’s, a South Minneapolis butcher that — in recent Internet terms, anyway — dwells in the shadow of the much more PR-savvy (and rightfully respected) Clancey’s. In brief: “Why do I love Everett’s so much? Maybe it’s the 1950′s nostalgic feel of the place. Maybe it’s the fact that they dry-age their beef to perfection. Maybe it’s their incredible house-made sausages and bratwurst and other cured meats.”
