A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.
Harmony Valley Farm in Viroqua, WI is throwing its last event of the year — a harvest party Sunday, Sep. 27 from 12 to 6pm. Meet Farmer Richard, tour the fields, feed the animals, pick pumpkins, and enjoy a pig roast / potluck. To participate in the meal, bring your own tableware plus a side dish or dessert to share. And for the adventurous, make a weekend of it and camp in the meadow!

Harmony Valley potlucks are about as good as it gets. We were down for one earlier this summer for a strawberry pick, potluck and farm tour, and we had a great time. Richard is an amazing guy, with a history of organic farming that is nearly unmatched.
