A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.
In honor of “Flip a Coin” Day on June 1, Longfellow Grill, Edina Grill, Highland Grill, and 3 Squares will give diners a shot at winning a free breakfast between 6-11am. Diners will call a coin in the air, and if they call it correctly, the restaurant pays for breakfast.

This idea gives me flashbacks to the great, late Mango Grill in Madison, which on Monday nights had the best meatloaf sandwiches (all you can eat, too) and “flip a coin” pitchers of beer. We rarely called the coin flip tho — very deceptive odds.
Can you call heads they lose, tails I win?
