A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.
Tuesday, Dec. 1 is the last day of operation for Uptown’s Zen Asian Contemporary. The well-reviewed spot (here’s our spin) battled for customers in a neighborhood strewn with competing eateries including the venerable Fuji-Ya and the distinctively positioned Moto-i. A press release notes: “However, owner Andy Kor is not quite ready to give up. He is looking for an investor to help see the restaurant through, however in the meantime, Zen Asian Contemporary will close it doors.”

Actually … Zen Asian was not planning to and has definitely NOT closed … they are open and offering some awesome new menu additions that you would not believe! If you have not been there recently, ya gotta GO!!! Zen is still THE place to be for a wonderfully relaxing meal and romantic zen-like evening.
