A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.
It’s time for the second annual Belgian Beer Festival at the Muddy Pig. The event, which runs through Sunday, includes more than 95 Belgian beers on draft plus beer-themed seminars. Seminars include “Why Belgium?” with Lanny Hoff of Artisanal Imports, “Belgian Brown Ales” with Brad the Beerguy of Chisago Lakes Distributing, and “Fermentable Love Fest” with Corey Shovein of Hohenstein Distributors. Festival admission is free; seminars are $20 each or $50 for all three. More details here.
