A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.
From Nov. 19-23, Barbette will offer a special four-course prix fixe menu that pairs with Drouhin Beaujolais Nouveau-Villages 2009. The meal will include caramelized onion pissaladiere with nicoise olives and chevre, butternut squash soup with lamb meatballs, braised red deer shanks or seared arctic char, and red wine-poached pears with mascarpone, pistachios, and lavender honey. The meal is $32 and the wine is $9.50 per glass or $36 per bottle.
