A fairly amazing-sounding Better Beer Society brown bag series event at Butcher & the Boar, some revised menus at local restaurants, a local foodie’s epic Mother’s Day feast, tasting notes for Summit Pilsner and Steel Toe’s Provider, the Star Tribune’s Taste 50, and a new urban farm in Minneapolis.

Last week, France 44 popped open and sampled 50 beers to celebrate 50 years in business. We dropped by, sampled some tasty brews (Goose Island is up to some very interesting Belgian-style stuff, among other notable contenders) and snapped some photos. Matt Fisher (above; we profiled him late last year) was holding court where the crowd was thickest and the beers most numerous.
